He is ALIVE

I have been thinking about Easter coming up. I see my Roman Catholic friends celebrating Lent. Our pastor talked about Good Wednesday and his thoughts on that this week as well. The world is watching as we prepare to celebrate "Easter."

But....what IS Easter?

Yes, we can all say, :Easter is when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He conquered sin & death for us."

OK, but what does that MEAN???

Be honest with yourself. Do you spend more time thinking about Christ's resurrection or about what to get the kids for their Easter baskets? Do you spend more time thinking about Christ's resurrection or about how you are going to balance the Sunday lunch with all the family? Is Easter really about Christ's resurrection or is it about candy, going to church, and/or family? What do we spend the most time talking to our kids about when it comes to Easter? Our spouses? Our friends, neighbors, co-workers, and classmates?

What do we spend the most time thinking about at Easter? What do we spend the most time talking about? Let's be honest, even if we say that Easter is about Christ's resurrection, but we talk about other aspects of "Easter" more than we talk about that...then it really isn't about that at all.

Christ's death on the cross is what makes us who we are! No different than a job change (retire, quit, start a business, change companies, etc.), social change (move, get married, get divorced, have kids, kids leave home, etc.), or health change (diet, sickness, disease discovered, disease cured, disease not cured). This should fundamentally change who we are and it should be pouring out of us as easily as talking about those things do.

So. What is Easter to you?
